In the 90s my grandad was still running his sawmill in East Texas.  Sawmills are extremely dangerous places and it wasn't unheard of for people to lose a finger or more. One day, a guy who was working for him stepped on this little 6ft fella. I'm not exactly sure what transpired next, but my mom, a self-taught taxidermist, skinned this snake, cured it and gave it to me for my 21st birthday--since it has 21 rattles. It's the best birthday present I've ever gotten from her. Made with love for her only daughter.
